Starchy vegetables
Our body has the ability to flip the additional starch into triglycerides. Hence it is all well and good to reduce the amount of starchy foods like rice, wheat, corn. Opt for vegetable in plenty, like cabbage, mushroom, cauliflower.
Fibrous food packed with other nutrients.
Sometimes canned food comes with mixture of fibrous food and nutrients such as beans backed with pork or sugar. Though beans is good fibrous food you can choose, but it goes wasted effectively when it is chosen with high fat and sugar like pork or sugar. Choose foods like black beans, which has low saturated fats and sugar, and are excellent source of fiber and nutrients.
Good things in large quantities
We all know that fruits are good for health, particularly if taken in small quantities rather than taking in plenty. However once you have had high triglycerides, limit yourself to 2-3 items of fruits a day. Thus you can reduce an excessive amount of the natural sugars that are present in the fruit. Bear in mind that, if you are serving dried fruits, serve only 2 tablespoons of it, because it contains high amount of fats.
Alcohol
If you think alcohol is good for your heart, remember that, too much of alcohol can raise your triglycerides. Whether it's a liquor, beer, or wine, it contains sugars that are added in it for fermentation. Hence it is recommended to simply stop drinking if you have high triglyceride, because taking too much sugar from any source can be a problem.
Fried Fish in Oil
Fish is a good source of omega-3 fatty acid, that is considered to be good for the heart. But when it is fried in oil, it can raise your triglycerides. So, it is always good to take fish that are not fried
Starchy Foods
Potatoes and cereals have high amount of stored starch and the body can convert them into triglycerides. Hence the serving of these items should be restricted.
Sugary Drinks
When you drink your regular soft drinks, fruit juices, sweetened tea or coffee, you may be adding more sugar than required. Your body has the ability to convert this excess sugar into triglycerides. So, if you are planning to cut down your sugar in take, remember to limit your regular drinks too.
Honey or Maple Syrup
Though honey is healthier than the natural sugar, it also contains sugar in various forms that can influence in raising triglycerides. So, once you are planning to lower your triglycerides, cut down your honey in take as well.
Baked foods.
Baked products contain high amount of saturated fat and trans fats, that are unhealthy for the heart. So, it is good to avoid these products , if you have high triglyceride.
High-Fat Meats
Meat contains tons of saturated fats, thus have limit this the maximum amount as potential to bring down the triglycerides. If you still want to have meat, opt for lean meat or take away all the visible fat before cookery.
Margarine
Margarine is a man made butter, it is made out of refined vegetable oil, water, and may also contain milk. It is filled with high amount of saturated fat or trans fat. So, it is risky to have Margarine, if you have high triglycerides.
